FRESH BATCH FOR MIKE.

Full new quiver for Mr. Mike Lay - Actually the biggest quiver i've ever designed and built for anyone -  8 boards too be precise, there's some BOS classic's in this batch and then some new stuff thats been in the think tank for some time which we have revisited and tweaked, I've worked very closely with Mike designing this quiver and we have let the curves do a lot of the talking which has been totally refreshing for us both... so here's some pictures as apparently a picture is worth 1000 words....

1. TRAD FISH - 5'6 x 21 x 2 3/8 - (VOLUME UNKNOWN)((Circa 30L))
This is actually a completely stock/standard TRAD fish, with the flatter deck line and rocker this has as much volume if not more volume that Mikes regular boards.
- Glassed in 6oz and as standard with double foiled geppy glass on fins from True Ames, I also went with a racing green tint and threw down a white comp band to set it off the gloss.. excited too see what he does with this one..

 2. ASYM FISH - 5'7 x 20 1/4 x 2 1/2 (VOLUME before i butchered it up was 32.7L)
A FISH TACO mash up, quad/twin - 5'7 toe side 5'6 heel, this was part of a recent run of asym boards i built, up-cycling some miscut blanks so i won't divulge too hard into these as there's a blog post just for these coming in the not too distant future.. symetrical nose with asym tail, rails and bottom shape.. whats not too love - glassed in s-glass with satin style finish.

3. COSMONAUT - 5'10 x 20 x 2 1/2 (VOLUME 32.5L)
An elliptical nose (and tail), This is V3 of the Cosmonaut WIP - playing with different rockers and foils, we have ended up going the opposite way too what one would imagine, with some rocker up front and a thinner shortboardy foil..(some what)
We have been working on this for a while, updating the fin placement as we go..
moving the front fins back and the back fins up has made it feel more like a twinny but with super hold, so its been a balance of getting the fins right for the desired feel which is a fast quad thats not tracky and still goes on rail (sounds like the age old "fast and loose" cliche) but its something we think is achievable based on V2 Cosmonaut.. (using fins with double foils and inside foils, more will be revealed)
Glassed 6oz bottom with double 4oz deck - 80's style logos, a double chevron spray and a satin finish..

4. ASYM - 6'2 x 20 x 2 1/2 ((VOLUME before i butchered it up was 33.7L))
- An OG miscut - Again same as the ASYM FISH TACO i dont wish too divulge too much info into this one either as we have a dedicated blog post coming soon for it.. but i will say this is an ASYM quad (can be ridden as a twin/quad or a TWIN) and designed for pumping waves - nose scoop, asym rails, tails, nose and offset stringer and fins.. glassed in S-glass with a new blend of ISO resin i've been playing with..

5. WIDOWMAKER QUAD - 6'4 x 19 3/4 x 2 1/2 (VOLUME 32.4L)
Mike's been super into quads (as you can see by this quiver), and the WIDOWMAKER quad is a personal favourite after riding a 7'3 all winter, so it just made sense to make him one as i knew it would go! i imagine this will be used for hollow tubes and long steep walls.. glassed 6oz bottom with 6+4oz deck and a satin finish..

6. TPH (Tri Plane Hull) 6'8 x 20 1/2 x 2 5/8 QUAD (VOLUME UNKNOWN)
- Conventionally i've been running the TPH as either a single or a 2+1, but again as Mikes' been vibing on quads it seemed like a fun chance to push the TPH design into a new realm.. I've set the quad fins up again as more of a twin style with the front fins pulled back and the rears pushed up (as Mike seems too enjoy this feel) trying too keep it positive off the back foot, i'm also interested too see how it goes as a twin fin too.. glassed 6 / 6 + volan DP and with a wet sand.

VBM - 8'0 x 22 x 3 (VOLUME 59L)
Standard VBM set up as a single, sometimes things dont need too be changed.. to be paired with a dagger fin - this one is glassed 6 + 6 /4 in brown gold and finished with a gloss & polish finish, somethings are timeless and this is one of those things which as a brand we cant deny the success the VBM has had in the market for the last 10 years+ so its nice too put Mike on a slightly bigger one and see how he gets on.

9. MIDNIGHT EXPRESS - 9'9 x 22 3/4 x 2 3/4 (77.6L)
Mike's last MIDNIGHT was magic - A 9'9 Pintail (SEAHAWK) which he cleaned up at every UK Log event of 2022 on, so we have taken the same thanggg (Magic 9'9 SEAHAWK) and made it as a regular square tail MIDNIGHT, for no other reason than too mix things up..! Army green tint, 6oz with fat laps and a satin style finish..

Looks like there's some waves this week too, so hopefuly some visuals and some feedback for us too process ASAP!
