Just like everyone else, i too watched the clips of Torren Martyn
riding big Cloudbreak on a longer twin fin and got
DEEPLY inspired..
so the twin pin is my take on this..
The Twin pin is a highly refined excitingly fast, fluid channel bottom twin design. It trims well from the middle and turns hard off the tail.. in smaller lengths its a great shortboard alternative and in longer lengths a wonderful midlength, the genesis of the twin pin comes from a variation of my Widowmaker outline but with a more pulled-in nose and tail, but in principal a straighter rail line in the back half with a curvier front third, and a the bottom shape consists of slight vee in the nose transitioning into a single concave and a 4 pack of channels through the tail (not as deep as you would think) which translates into A LOT OF FUN, the channels provide drive and hold while the twin fin set up pivots and draws tight lines making for a very fun ride from take off..
Like all my models these are highly customizable, and we make the TWIN PIN in a few variations:
Double Pin Twin (DPT) a twin pin with a double pin (Swallow) tail, for those that like things a bit more pivotal.
Twinzer pin - which is a twin pin sans channels and with a twinzer fin option.. (if you know you know)..

I get a lot of questions over what fins too ride in the TWIN PIN, over years of riding these i've learnt is you can mix things up quite heavily for uniquely different feels adding too the versatile nature of the twin pin:
- In the smaller lengths i exclusively like an upright twin template, it feels the most reactive and is sized appropriately for theslightly narrow tail in the smaller TPs (sub 6'6)..
- in mid and larger size twin pins you can mix it up a lot more - I personally like keel fins for more drawn out surfing on either longer waves (pointbreaks) or larger walls/faces and then im a huge fan of more upright template (MR style) for more reactive/pivotal surfing i,e, typical beach break conditions, a set of each would be worthwhile in my opinion..
And if your really up for experimentation i'd heavily recommend my VMK set - a hatchett design you can read more about here.
Sizing wise, i make the twin pin from 5'6 up too 9'0 - smaller lengths have a more pocket rocket feel (great tube riders), mid size is my favourite whereas longer lengths tend too have more glide...
